Introduction Course

  • The introduction course is to give dogs under 7 months old and their handlers an introduction to basic dog training and handling skills needed to begin assistance dog training.
  • Upon completing the introduction course those who wish can join the assistance dog program. 
  • If, upon joining the assistance dog program following the introduction course, your dog doesn't pass the bronze award assessment by 12 months old, the dog will need an in person suitability assessment. 

Online live introduction course


  • Our online live introduction course gives you 3 x 40 minute zoom sessions to cover the introduction course. 
  • These sessions are capped at 6 households per course. 
  • These sessions cover 50% practical and 50% theory.
  • Following each session you also have access to an introduction course virtual refresher to recap on topics covered and the practical for the rest of the week. 
  • £70 per dog.

In person introduction course


  • Occasionally, we offer in person introduction courses. 
  • These cover the same skills and topics as the virtual introduction courses and consist of 2 x in person practical dog training session and 1 x in person theory session. 
  • These are capped at 4 dogs per course
  • £70 per dog. 

Please note: The trainers children may be in attendance and the training takes place in public environments not private hired locations and therefore other dogs or people may be around.
